How the External Tesla Phone Battery Pack Makes Sense
We can think of loads of reasons why the idea is attractive. After all, a Tesla icon is on the way to becoming a fashion statement. However, in our mind this does not justify spending $45 when there are proven cheaper alternatives. We could argue similarly when considering a new car.
Famous German marques are tempting, but how much is the badge on the hood really worth? That said, the external Tesla phone battery pack is a sleek and compact stunner. It may have been been “designed and inspired after Tesla’s supercharger monument at the Tesla Design Studio” according to the blurb, but where does this leave the rest of the world?
The Deeper Significance: How Much Does Price Count?
External battery packs come in handy when we are away from base, and we cannot easily access a compatible charging point. This challenge will continue until we have better battery density. But the need will remain for an eventual recharge.
We are not quite at the point where a portable phone battery makes us life and soul of the party. However we are getting closer with multiple charging jacks. The deeper question remains unanswered, why should we pay more for electric cars when there’s a cheaper alternative, gasoline.
Does the Future of Electric Cars Hang in the Balance
Maslow’s hierarchy states we cannot aspire to altruistic values until we have fulfilled our basic needs. Until the mass of humanity achieves this, high density batteries and electric cars will remain in the domain of the strictly rich. This is a challenge of global warming proportions. We are sad to say it, but electric vehicles are still in the balance from a global perspective, and we have much catching up to do.
