We peered into our crystal ball with help from friends at Forbes. We discovered to our un-surprise that energy storage will be top among renewable energy trends in 2019. Thus this will enable more alternative energy to roll out uninterrupted, smooth power. And our favorite topic, batteries will be at the heart of the matter.
Two More 2019 Renewable Energy Trends to Watch
Micro grids will become increasingly popular, as people learn to share energy freely available from wind and sun. Artificial will also become increasingly intelligent as robots produce new designs daily, and cut panel manufacturing time by up to 90%.
Block chain technology will automatically buy and sell energy at the most appropriate times. Brooklyn micro grid members are already using it to share power collaboratively. Moreover this third of our six renewable energy trends for next year will no doubt take care of the energy accounting too. And furthermore handle any set-off payments without the need for an intermediary.
The Other Three Trends in the Electrical Energy Industry
Forbes predicts increasing parity as the cost of renewables falls further. Hence we will start moving away from large, top-down energy to distributed supply sources. This could also speed up decommissioning of coal-powered base-load stations.
The fifth of our renewable energy trends sees increasing commitment from cities and countries in terms of climate action plans. We are excited to hear of 2015 Paris Agreement promises coming through. However what really stands out is the possibility of providing electricity to the billion who don’t already have it.
It’s hard to imagine that a billion people don’t have smartphones, computers, and even electric light. Just imagine if they had access to the internet. Then they could acquire the knowledge and skills we take for granted.
