Garage door battery replacement instructions

Wear gloves and eye protection when replacing the battery in your garage door opener.

Before you get started – WARNING:

Close the garage door, then disconnect it from the opener

Disconnect the power to the garage door opener (unplug it from utility power – from the outlet)

1. Unplug the battery backup from the harness connection.

2. Unscrew the mounting screws holding the battery backup and take off the battery backup.

4. Remove 4 screws from the bracket holding the battery.

5. Remove the old battery and disconnect the wires from the (+) and (-) terminals.

6. Connect the new battery to the (-) terminal first, then the (+) terminal. Always connect the (-) wire to the (-) battery terminal and the (+) wire to the (+) battery terminal.

7. Install the new battery by reversing the steps above.
